FoWO

djDid you know WWOOF started in the UK in 1971? Since then it has spread far and wide; with more than 12,000 hosts in over 100 countries. National WWOOF groups have always networked on an informal level, but in 2013 for the first time ever they have come together to create a formal Federation of WWOOF Organisations (FoWO) www.wwoof.net , the official representative body for WWOOF at an international level and we are proud to be part of.

In WWOOF PHILIPPINES we inform you that we are currently starting our activities as a non-profit association in Philippines. With everybody’s help, we hope that the WWOOF project -which already been started and whose aim is to develop Interests, knowledge and exchange of techniques on organic farming among volunteers at the national and international level that will contribute to the development of specific projects, exchange best practises, and culture and lifestyle in harmony with Nature;

The WWOOF philosophy puts forward an easy and today unusual exchange of humaneness and shared time in the typical labour in a countryside house, in the middle of nature, and using sustainable and organic methods.

In this organisation we work with groups of volunteers and other organizations in order to research, develop, pilot and implement local initiatives on organic farming.Work with any corporation, group or research institutes to develop and exchange organic farming knowledge and appropriate technologies.

Joining the programme is very easy for those hosts interested. If they fulfil some basic and ecological conditions, offer organic experiences and are willing to provide volunteers or wwoofers with board and lodging, they would be able to become listed by WWOOF PHILIPPINES.

And joining the programme is also easy for WWOOFERS or volunteers: they should be willing to help and gain experience on a farm or in a rural settlement, sharing a certain period of time with its inhabitants.
